We offer 3 modalities for the game of Buraco:

Buraco Aberto
One of the most popular games in Brazil, also known as Biriba or Canasta, it can be played with 2 or 4 players. In this modality, the cards in the discard pile can be seen by all players. Besides this, the game can only be ended with a clean run, groups of same face value cards are not allowed, and the deuce and joker can be used as wild cards, replacing any card lacking for the canasta.

Buraco Fechado
This modality is a variation of the traditional game of Buraco and can be played with 2 or 4 players. The discard pile can be partially seen by players (top card only) and picking up the discard pile must be justified with the use of the card in play. Besides this, the game can be ended on a dirty run, groups of same face value cards can be used, and the deuce and joker can be used as wild cards, replacing any card lacking for the canasta.

Buraco Fechado STBL
This modality was created from requests from our users, and can be played with 2 to 4 players. The discard pile can be partially seen by players (top card only) and picking up the discard pile must be justified with the use of the card in play. The acronym STBL signifies (“No groups and games ends on a clean run”). The deuce and joker can be used as wild cards, replacing any card lacking for the canasta.
